College is the perfect place to experiment and try out (with fashion and style of course). For this post I will go right out and tell you that it is pretty easy and simple to wear different clothing pieces and look good while trying. I have never been into colored pants or colored denim, but when I was gifted this pair of red jeans by Levis, I was starting to reconsider this decision. This post is a style hack for those that have colored denim and are wondering what to wear them with, also a couple of style tips on what to wear to college.

We decided to do a collaboration because both of our styles are very similar yet individualistic in their own realm. Brenda’s sense of style is very urban and street style and she dresses really well.

Style Hacks and Tips

For the ladies, Converse sneakers are a must have in your wardrobe. These come in handy when you don’t want to wear a pair of heels and you can pair them with dresses and pull a Kirsten Stewart at the red carpet.

Tank tops are all the rage especially if its hot as it usually is in Nairobi. Style hacks and tips for tank tops is to get them in many colors and silhouettes and designs to pair with not only jeans but skirts and dresses.

For accessories a simple neck piece and necklace goes a long way and balance and complete the outfit.

ABOUT FRED’S LOOK

I decided to pair my colored denim pants with a white shirt to create a chilled out yet conservative look. I completed the look with minimal accessories and white high top converse sneakers to blend in well with the shirt. This is one of my favorite go to looks when I need to wear something other than black, or black and white.

STYLE HACKS AND TIPS

When pairing colored denim or colored pants, the t-shirt or shirts should be a basic base color, unless you are trying to pull off a monochromatic look it is important to reduce the attraction from all over the body.

Converse sneakers are a must have for guys too, they come pretty handy when you want to be dressy but dressed down. For college and running errands, fit is pretty important , straight jeans make movement easy and folding them at the hem creates an illusion of skinny jeans.
