Street Style is an important mode of expression. There is a lot of individuality when it comes to expression especially through style and fashion. One of my major inspirations in blogging and styling is New York Street Style , which is filled with so much personality and character.

Ikran and I sat down and thought we would put our heads together and come up with looks that are easy to wear yet functional.

When it comes to acing the street style there are a couple of wardrobe essentials that almost everyone needs to have:

1. The Leather Jacket (This can be in various variants through the silhouettes, colors , texture and styles)
2. Denim (This can be a denim shirt or denim pants and even the denim jacket which is a classic fashion statement piece)
3. Accessories (This is paramount to have your own sense of style, how you wear your accessories and what are your faves , teaches the world to identify you with that one or two items. For instance I am known for my sunglasses , check out my ever growing collection HERE)
4. SHOES! SHOES! SHOES! (It is important that your shoe game is ‘lit’ . You don’t have to invest thousands of shillings or pounds or dollars in shoes, all you need is to get good versatile shoes that can mesh and work with different looks)

STREET STYLE LOOK 1

The All Black look is a classic, and is the chic of chic. It is an easy go to look for college , campus, or a day out shopping. Pairing the outfit with a sweater or crop top would raise the sexyness and add a feminine touch. Ripped Jeans add the edgy to a look which might be considered a bit too safe.

STREET LOOK 2

This look is based on athleisure, which is athletic wear worn or styled in a casual chic way. We decided to pair this dress with a leather jacket and sneakers to make the look more practical and easy to wear. We add the choker to make it more individualistic and add feminine character. When pairing dresses with sneakers it is important to figure out what type of sneakers work with what dresses.

STREET LOOK 3

This look is ultimately the girly girl look. We paired a flowy top with the choker and white jeans. The choker and the leather jacket added a bit of edgy to the complete look. This outfit is pretty easy to wear and most likely a favorite.

STREET LOOK 4

For this look , we paired denim on denim which is a street style classic. When wearing denim on denim , it is advised to have the hues and the shades match to ace the monochromatic look. If the shades don’t match then you can just one darker and one lighter shade, preferably the bottom should be lighter than the top to achieve a filtered look.
