By now, if you follow me on social media , Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat you would understand my love for black outfits. This is something that runs in my immediate family. My mum loves her black outfits, she literally has 6 black pairs of dress pants and always gets more , which I completely don’t understand. Anyway this post is another style post with one of my new favorite monochrome pairings.
I wore this monochromatic black outfit by Roma Designs Africa for Nairobi Fashion Week , which happened last November , a day before my 23rd birthday which was also a day before the JW Fashion Show, which you can read more on HERE.
Of late I have been asked how I describe my sense of style and my go-to answer is that my style is very urban and a mix of all styles. This is true , but I have a certain element to my edgy, urban look. I try to stay simple yet have a certain je ne sais qoui. I like to think that my pieces are easily accessible and functional for everyone out there, from the college kid trying to stay fresh , to the working guy trying to have a day off wearing suits and dress shirts.
The first step to achieving your signature style is finding a pattern. A pattern in how you dress , a pattern in how you shop and what you shop for. In my case I barely wear tshirts unless I am lazying about in the house or hanging by the pool , or when its a hot day (really hot day) . My pattern to how I dress is layering, I usually wear a vest or an undershirt and layer it on with something else, like a plaid shirt as seen here or a bomber jacket.
