Being a true foodie and explorer, I could not pass an amazing birthday dinner at Moxie’s in Vaughan, Ontario. Arnold from my church group was turning 21 and we had set out to celebrate his birthday. Moxie’s is super “snazzy” and hip and has branches across America and Canada. It is important to make reservations. If you are a large group to avoid any disappointments with seating and space allocations. If not you would have to wait for a table to get free. I would highly advise you make a reservation! Back to the post.
Typical African behaviour and being late, most people came in at 8 pm and the dinner was set to start at 7 pm. The staff were very friendly and had the menus laid out for us on the long high bench tile table. (Come to think of it, it looked like an island dining are in the kitchen) We got to order our drinks and I had a classic Long Island which was amazing, and came just about 10 minutes after I made the order, great score Moxie’s! The menu is super easy to understand, with different sections highlighted like the starters, the mains and the steaks. My mouth was a bit ajar because the steaks were well in over 25CAD (approx 2000KES) however this is minus tax, which is something I am yet to get used to.
You also know I love good portions that are worth the coin and the portions were well worth the coin. You can tell from the images below.
I decided to try the street tacos with a side of fries mostly because I wanted to play safe and I do love tacos. The beauty of such a huge group is that most people want to try different things, and Moxie’s have that; from the pork ribs to some more healthy or vegan options. Here are some images from my night at Moxie’s. Apart from the food, I loved the setting and the vibe that I got from the place.
Moxie’s have a variety of locations across the US and in Canada, and this is definitely a place to try.
